Every city consists not only of picturesque landscapes, but also of the people who inhabit it. By befriending the inhabitants you can easily sell surplus crops and earn money to buy new animals or tools. Some of the townspeople still haven't found their soulmate. Conversations and the right gifts will melt even the coldest heart. Changing out of your farmer's outfit into a wedding suit is another goal in the game.
The approach on this matter is wonderful as it is not just one huge story dump and throws you in. You are given some story (sometimes rather large), a tutorial on new things you can do, and then let back into the game. What is the end goal here? You need to show your father that you are able to have a life on your own as a father and grow as an individual. How will that happen is up to the player. Will the player fail or succeed in their own way? That is entirely up to you.
Visually, this is what someone would expect from a 3DS game. It looks good for what it is, but the visuals can be improved on. The environments are all rather unique too and the colors blend very well on each thing. In addition, the visuals do change as the passing of seasons occur. Colors will change and small things will look differently.
In the Audio department, the game delivers. The game has sounds that work for nearly everything done in it. Each environment has its own audio track that blends very well. Catering to your own farm too sounds wonderful. It is rather peaceful as everything mixes. However, as probably expected, there is no actual voice work in the game. You will get grunts, laughs, and other small vocal gestures, but no full on voice acting. There have been titles in the past from Marvelous/Xseed that had some sort of Voice work, at least in story terms, but there is nothing here. It is rather disappointing to me as you meet several individuals in your journey and it would be nice to hear their unique voices.
Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns is a unique approach to a farming simulator. It is not just a farming simulator, it has much more depth. There is a unique story in the game, nearly limitless customization and approach in the journey of being a farmer, and other extra features. It is a very fun game, however, it is a game that you have to be fully invested in during your play sessions. Sadly, in the huge games that are coming out these days, this title could be overlooked and/or hardly played. I do hope people play this title as this game as in the large titles that are coming out that are all action, this is a breath of fresh air. I welcome Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns in the releases of 2017. It does hold its own on the 3DS and should be checked out if the opportunity is ever given. This will probably be one of the better handheld releases this year (if the Nintendo Switch is not considered a handheld, which I am not considering it that way).

Westown, Lulukoko Village, and Tsuyukusa Town helped elevate this game over past entries in the series. They are just so magnetic, so full of life and color, that I would often skip watering my crops to just get a little more time in these towns. Sure, my farm suffered and my progression slowed, but it was worth it to be swept off my feet by the charisma of these villages.
@Luigivaldo Of the games listed here, Friends of Mineral Town or More Friends of Mineral Town are among the best. The original SNES entry is still good and a nice little bit of history. Honestly, though, if you have a Switch.. you might just be better off playing the Mineral Town remake and/or Rune Factory 5 (or 4 Special). Without the nostalgia, the older entries might just feel somewhat archaic.
I own physical copies of all of them already, that's how you actually own these games, not by downloading them on your 3DS or Wii U. If your system develops a failure, you're out of luck. The cartridges are practically indestructible. They are not even very expensive unless you also want a pristine cardboard box.
Releasing next week on November 9, the New Neighbors Pack DLC will include loads of new content for Trio of Towns fans, including new friendship events, NPC dialog, winter outfits, and even new story content. The DLC also throws two new romantic candidates into the mix: Stephanie, whom players might recognize as the MC from the game's contest, and Woofio, the contest judge dressed in a dog suit.

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012 as the final title to bear the name Harvest Moon before the franchise switched over to calling itself Story of Seasons. The story features an abandoned town called Echo Village the player must revive by farming and other methods familiar to games in the series.
Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns once again took the series in a surprising direction by adding in three separate towns. The DS title released in 2017, with three different towns molded after three different cultures. It introduced several different breeds of dogs, taking pets around town, and being able to decorate your home. The game also pulled in many veteran players with its roster of 14 unique marriage candidates.
The player is tasked with bringing the three towns together and learning to explore their unique cultures. Thanks to the wide range of villagers, there are more NPCs than normal, giving players focused on the more social elements of the game series tons to do and more lore to dive into.
Johnson has been a complete disappointment over the last three seasons. Even his kick returning has regressed over the years. This could very well be his last chance in New England and he knows it. I do believe his route running is less than spectacular and I don't think he has the greatest hands, either. But we all know he has spectacular speed that makes him a tempting option. The lack of depth at the position should keep him around for another season, but if he doesn't make huge strides in his overall game and as a regular offensive contributor his days will be numbered. Andy Hart
I do not see why there is all the pessimism. Has anyone seen the Patriots schedule recently? They have 5-6 wins almost immediately locked up in their division and at least three in the NFC north. They only have 4 arguably hard games. The three toughest they have at home against Chicago, Indy and Denver, and they go on the road for Cincinnati. Every good team in the AFC has major questions - Joseph Addai may be good but is he going to be [Eric] Dickerson in his rookie season? And how is Indy's already swiss cheese defense going to be with two key losses? How is Pittsburgh going to replace 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns between [Jerome] Bettis and [Antwan] Randle El? Can [Jake] Plummer have another year like he did (I have doubts)? I don't see why every critic is burying the Pats as the 4th or 5th best team in the AFC.Andrew Green
Two things. First, are you going to pretend the Patriots don't have as many questions as each of the AFC teams you just listed? Who is the fourth linebacker replacing Willie McGinest in the starting lineup? Who is the No. 2 wide receiver? Will Dillon bounce back or will the rookie Maroney have to carry the load? Will Brady stay healthy through an endless pounding yet again? What is the starting secondary going to look like? Who kicks those last-second field goals that the team so often needs? Let's be honest, the Patriots have a ton of questions right now just like almost every other team does. And maybe more importantly, the Patriots have higher standards than most other teams. Winning back-to-back titles and three Super Bowls in five years sets the bar pretty high. Making the playoffs isn't success. Reaching the title game isn't success. Success in New England is about winning rings and nothing else. Expectations are a bit higher when the term dynasty is thrown around. I agree that the Patriots are the class of the AFC East and should win the division title. But that's not enough. The real question is whether the Patriots can be considered one of the top two or three teams in the game right now, as has been the case for the last few years. I have my doubts. But that could change as training camp plays out, roster spots unfold and the regular season begins. Time will tell how good this group can be, but there is no arguing the high standards it has to live up to if it is going to be considered a success. Andy Hart
The Patriots released Brown on March 13. His only season in New England was a total disappointment. He struggled to work his way into the scheme and had little success in his somewhat limited playing time, although he handled the situation like a true professional. I have not seen his name on the transaction wire so I believe he remains on the open market. After 13 seasons in the league his career may have come to an end. Andy Hart
